WELCOME

Dear Neighbours and Friends:

As the Member of Parliament for Eglinton-Lawrence, it is a pleasure and honour to serve the constituents of this riding. I have had this privilege since I was first elected to the House of Commons in 1988.

For over twenty years, I have represented my constituents and all Canadians in many different capacities: Opposition backbencher and critic; House of Commons Committee Member and Chair; Parliamentary Secretary, and Cabinet Minister. I have lived the Canadian experience and have dealt with challenges that Canadians face head on. I have lived and worked in this vibrant community since the 1970's and watched it grow. It is a representation of the Cultural mosaic that is Toronto and I will always fight for all residents in Eglinton-Lawrence. I would like to continue my work with you and in Parliament to represent the constituents of this magnificent riding. I have been and will continue to be the people's MP.

I want a society that has Growth, Opportunity, and Equality for all Canadians. I believe you can have a just society while still providing fiscally responsible programs. By weaving together economic prosperity, social justice and environmental sustainability together we can build a better Canada.

Yours Truly,

The Hon. Joe Volpe, P.C., M.P.
Eglinton-Lawrence
